Yeah Winno!

Professor Putricide on normal mode was initially a challenge for us when the Plague wing opened its doors to the general raiding public, as we tackled him in our shiny item level 232/245 gear kindly gifted to us by the denizens of the Crusaders' Coliseum. The DPS race in the final phase really pushed us to the limit, but with a bit of practice we kicked his plagued ass. As it turns out, this was a walk in the park compared with his heroic mode!

As you are probably aware, dear reader, the Professor gains a couple of crazy new abilities. After a bit of practice, our ranged were able to effectively distribute the Unbound Plague amongst themselves, while our melee really pushed DPS on the transitional oozes. All the while, our off-tank was jumping about the place in his smelly monster suit, drinking puddles of radioactive ooze and whacking the boss whenever he was close enough.

We knew if we could push him into the final phase with no casualties, we had this encounter nailed. When he wandered over to his table of delicious potions for the last time, we swiftly dispatched the transition oozes and made a head-start on him while he was still musing over his concoctions. A brief kite round the slime-free room, mixed with a liberal amount of DPS, and he was dead!

After last week's excitement in the Blood wing, we decided to pay Lady Deathwhisper an overdue visit and see if her heroic mode lived up to the hype that we had heard so much about. After dispatching Marrowgar and his blue flame-farts of doom, we strolled up to her domicile and worked out our strategy for the encounter before engaging her followers. The trash was smashed, and we start chipping away at her expensive Prada™ mana shield while more of her followers tried to tickle us with their abilities.

We thought that her taunt immunity in phase two would have caused us problems, but the raid ensured that our two tanks stayed top of the threat table. Our disease-happy frost DPS deathknight got a bit carried away with himself, and was quickly dispatched, but we still kept the cool and destroyed her in true Unsafe fashion.

Professor Putricide, we're coming for you!

For the past few weeks, we have been cherry-picking our heroic encounters following on from the recent shin-kicking we gave Arthas. Marrowgar got boned, the horde Gunship got shot to smithereens, Deathbringer Saurfang got, err... deathbrung? The plague babies tried to put up a fight with their daddy watching from the balcony, promptly spat the dummy and were subsequentially kablammoed by our DPS.

First up in the heroic Blood wing was Mrs Blood-Queen, with her evil biting and ramped-up raid damage. It took us a few tries, but we worked out the best way to maximise our DPS and proceeded to nuke her into oblivion with a few seconds left on the enrage timer!

After some officer discussion, we decided to tackle the Blood Council on heroic -- what a fight! The additional shadow debuff mechanic really pushed our raid's skill to the limit, but we still managed to kick their royal asses! Our main tank was on a sliver of health towards the end with two bosses beating the crap out of him, so it was definitely "squeeky bum" time for our healers! Gratz to all involved!

About time!

You can say a lot about <Unsafe> but you can't deny the fact that we are a very well traveled guild!

Between that day we killed Sindragosa and this day we have had one of our tanks slacking 3 weeks in Thailand, our Hunter checking out China for a few weeks and our mage taking a spin in friggin Oman. Our holy pally have been working 24/7 and been to what must be every gaming convention in Northern Europe. Our lock have been called away for work and only available on Sundays. That was after he came back from NY. We have been plagued with bad setups and cancellations. We have 9 manned almost all bosses in ICC10 and done it all with 2 healers (that was the easy part!). We have had a resto shammy take the bouncy ball on the blood council. We have had our shadow priest healing and our three tanking. We have had our tank oversleep to the raid that starts at 20.00. We have had traffic jams. We have had beds delivered. Did I even mention the lagg? Ah well, he is dead now!

And there she lay...

Sindragosa, one of the bigger characters lore wise in the forming of Azeroth before the Great Sundering and events to come after. Her body cast into Icecrown by Neltharion, her mind bitter and full of hatred towards the world of mortals which in the end consumed her sanity in her agonizing, final moments. Her soul finally put to rest. Malygos will be releaved.

And ofcourse so were we! Not just because we finally defeated her and cleared what is a tricky fight (especially the last phase) but also because this opens up the way to the Lich King. For many of us the road to perhaps the best known antagonist in the Warcraft series started while playing the Warcraft series RTS games, Warcraft 3 and Frozen Throne in particular. For others it started when entering their first Molten Core run and for some when Wrath of the Lich King was released. Either way, all the roads have been leading to the Lich King. And we intend to see where that road leads us once we vanquish him.

Keep your eyes fixed for the inevitable - The fall of the Lich King!
